Château des Ravatys: A 19th Century Legacy

Château des Ravatys is a historic wine estate established in the mid-19th century by Auguste Solet, an engineering student from Lorraine. Nestled in the heart of the Beaujolais region, this enchanting winery features stunning architectural buildings surrounded by lush vineyards. The estate spans 29 hectares, producing wines under the AOC Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly appellations.

Unique Terroir and Wine Characteristics

The unique acidic soil of Côte de Brouilly imparts elegance and finesse to the wines, while the granite sand of the Brouilly appellation enhances the fruit's charm and suppleness. Château des Ravatys specializes in the Gamay grape variety, known for its vibrant flavors. The vineyards are located on the hillsides of Mount Brouilly, with each plot yielding approximately 50 hectoliters per hectare.

A Dedicated Team and Engaging Activities

The winemaking process at Château des Ravatys benefits from the expertise of local vine-growing families who partially rent the land. A skilled oenologist oversees the quality of the wines, ensuring that each bottle meets high standards. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including guided tours of the historic castle, leisurely walks through the vineyards, and wine tastings. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from castle activities supports the Institute Pasteur, which focuses on preventing and treating infectious diseases.

The vineyard is small but don't be fooled by that. It's wines are quite nice and the tour through the wine making process was very informative!

The loan was very professional and taught us a lot about the history of Château de Ravatys. It was very interesting and we had a lot of fun sharing knowledge. Extremely delicious wines, three of which we fell in love with and left with! Thanks to her, we recommend them without hesitation. Madison and Jerome

As a wedding photographer in Mâcon (so not far away), I had the pleasure of immortalizing Clémentine and Geoffroy's wedding on May 11th at the Château des Ravatys! This place is simply magical! 😍 It was my first time there and I really liked it, the green gardens, the interiors, everything is elegant... every corner is perfect for unique wedding photos. ✨ Not only is the castle magnificent, but it is perfectly maintained and the on-site team takes great care of it, really professional and adorable! I can't wait to come back for another wedding!
