Serene was lovely, knowledgeable and professional, giving us a thorough background of the chateau, and its subsequent evolution into wine production. We learned about the grape variety, the terroir, the climate effects on harvest and the aging process. Then we tasted four of the varieties discussed. A perfect two hours!
The wine tasting and tour around the winery was an overall positive experience. Our guide told us a lot about the winerys history, the makings of their wine and everything in between. Wine tasting was an informative and tasty thrill! Only downside was getting to the place from the near by train station. Getting a taxi around the area can be a tough job for english speakers and we had to rely on locals help.
The historic Château Des Ravatys is always worth a visit. Very well-kept adjacent park, surrounded by its beautiful vineyards. Free entry.
