Perched on a south-facing hill, Domaine Les Capréoles benefits from granite soils that are ideal for cultivating Gamay grapes. The team prioritizes daily care of the vines and soil to ensure the grapes reach perfect ripeness. Preserving biodiversity and maintaining soil health for future generations is a core value at the estate. Each step in the winemaking process presents new challenges, as the team strives to capture the true essence of their terroir.
Cédric, the owner and a trained agronomist and oenologist, is passionate about organic farming. After years of honing his winemaking skills, he turned his 15-year dream into reality. The winery’s guiding principle is “better grapes for better vines.” Cédric and his family are dedicated to their craft and enjoy sharing their passion with visitors through wine tastings and tours of their picturesque vineyards.

VINEYARDS AND GRAPE VARIETY 🍇 Situated on a south-facing slope, the vineyards surround the buildings of the domaine Les Capréoles estate. Gamay is a delicate, subtle and multi-faceted variety. It can be described as fruity, complex and structured, the Domaine Les Capréoles was born in July 2014, with its 3 hectares of vines arranged like a garden around the property, benefiting from an exceptional view of the two bell towers of the village.

It was a rainy Sunday and many wineries were closed. We happened upon this gorgeous vineyard and the wife of the winemaker took time out of her day to give us a tasting. Every wine we tasted was better than the next and it was topped off with incredible conversation. This was truly the highlight of our trip and we purchased multiple wines. If you find yourself wandering the hills of Burgundy you must stop by this special place! We have been determined ever since to find a way to get these wines to NYC!
