Domaine Du Mont Verrier Wine Estate, in the Heart of the Pierres Dorées Area

Located between Lyon and Macon, south of the winemaking region of Burgundy, deep in the heart of the “Pierres Dorées” area of the Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages appellations region, you will find the Domaine du Mont Verrier wine estate with its magnificent 17th-century house. The history of the estate is closely associated with that of the Hospices de Villefranche and the nuns from the Sainte Marthe de Beaune “Hospitalier” order. It is one of the most beautiful places in France with a beautiful environment, perfect for cultural discoveries and walks. The wine cellar was renovated in 2018 and is equipped with the latest winemaking technology. However, there are still old casks present and a century-old wine press.

Domaine Du Mont Verrier boasts around 40 hectares of vineyards and a rare, ampelographic collection of around wine and table grape varieties. Apart from grapes, they also have an orchard that grows peach, plums, apple, cherry, fig, apricot, etc. Vegetables and fruits also grow in their region and provide the perfect organic produce for their restaurant. The main grape varieties that grow in their vineyards are Gamay, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The best grapes are handpicked and used to make their exquisite red and white wines. Apart from the winery, they also have a beautiful guesthouse for their guests. The view from the guesthouse is panoramic, and they provide all the facilities for their guests. The restaurant uses its homegrown products to make the best local dishes for guests.
