Exceptional Albarino Wines in Galicia's Rias Baixas Region
Corisca Winery: A Gem in the Rias Baixas
Corisca Winery is nestled along the banks of the Minho River in a picturesque thermal valley, surrounded by lush native forests and charming World Heritage villas. Established in 2009, this family-owned winery reflects a rich history and a deep passion for winemaking. The owner’s father planted Albarino vines in the Rias Baixas D.O. nearly forty years ago, and today, the second generation continues this legacy.
As a pioneer of organic farming in the region, Corisca Winery produces wines with a distinctive crispness that showcases the unique terroir.
Ideal Conditions for Vine Growth
The winery's vineyards thrive in the Minho River valley, surrounded by scenic forests and mountains. Finca Muino spans two hectares, while Finca Malladoura covers three hectares with fifteen-year-old vines. The granite soils, combined with the Atlantic climate and stable temperatures, create perfect conditions for cultivating high-quality grapes.
Organic Practices for Premium Albarino
At Corisca Winery, only organic methods are employed to ensure the health of the vines and the surrounding ecosystem. The winery produces exceptional Albarino wines from their homegrown grapes, crafting around 10,000 bottles each year. After a careful manual harvest, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, resulting in wines with subtle fruit flavors and enticing aromas.
