Domaine Chamfort: A Gem in the Rhône Valley

Located in the picturesque south of the Rhône Valley, Domaine Chamfort has been a beacon of quality winemaking since 1990. Founded by Vasco Perdigao, who honed his skills in the cellars of the estate, this winery spans 27 hectares across several prestigious appellations. The primary offerings include Vacqueyras, Rasteau, Côtes du Rhône Village Seguret, Côtes du Rhône Village Sablet, and IGP. Committed to sustainability, Domaine Chamfort employs organic farming practices, using only organic fertilizers to nurture the vines and protect the environment for future generations.

The Unique Terroir of Domaine Chamfort

The terroir at Domaine Chamfort is characterized by deep, well-drained soils that are ideal for producing high-quality grapes. The Rasteau region enjoys a favorable climate, with warm sunny days and cool nights, which enhances the flavor profile of the grapes. The Seguret vines, nearly fifty years old, thrive in rich soils composed of large limestone scree and quartz, contributing to the complexity of the wines.

I came today to Domaine La Perdrière and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the experience was just spectacular because of the welcoming environment. The host was a lovely man and clearly knew his stuff, and the wine was fabulous too.!!

Local appellations but with a special touch... a very successful vacqueyras, a sablet with very good value for money and a very interesting viognier.
