Committed to Organic Winemaking and Sustainability in Rhône
Organic Farming at Domaine de la Croix Blanche
Domaine de la Croix Blanche is nestled in the picturesque Rhône Valley, near the stunning Gorges de l’Ardèche. With a rich family heritage, this estate spans 29 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards. In 1989, Daniel Archambault took the reins from his parents, bringing modern winemaking techniques to the estate alongside his wife, Rose Marie. Their dedication to vineyard management ensures the production of high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Modernizing the Winery from Vine to Cellar
Over the years, Daniel has transformed the winery by replacing century-old vats with contemporary equipment. In 2005, he introduced thermoregulation to enhance the winemaking process. By 2008, stainless steel tanks were added for the vinification of rosés and whites. The meticulous care taken from vine to bottle results in wines that showcase the estate's commitment to quality.
Diverse Grape Varieties at Domaine de la Croix Blanche
The winery cultivates a variety of traditional grapes, including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Merlot, Cinsault, and Grenache Blanc, along with Clairette, Roussanne, Viognier, and Marsanne. This diverse selection allows Domaine de la Croix Blanche to produce a wide range of wines under AOP Côtes du Rhône, Côtes Rhône Village, and IGP Ardèche classifications. In 2011, the estate transitioned from sustainable agriculture to organic farming, and by 2013, the entire vineyard was certified organic. Their son Guillaume joined the team to continue the family legacy of winemaking.
