Nestled in the heart of the Centre-Loire region, at the southern edge of the Coteaux du Giennois appellation, this remarkable terroir, deeply rooted in history, gives birth to wines of character and genuine expression.

Domaine de Villargeau is part of this legacy, shaped by the work of four generations of passionate artisans.

The estate’s winegrowing adventure began in 1991, when two brothers, Jean-Fernand Thibault and François Thibault, boldly decided to clear hillside plots that had been abandoned since the phylloxera crisis, in order to replant vines and bring this exceptional site back to life.

Today, Marc, Yves and Christophe carry on this winemaking tradition with a strong commitment to quality and respect for nature. Certified organic since 2022, these dedicated artisans work to produce outstanding wines.

The estate covers 23 hectares, with three-quarters of the vineyard planted with Sauvignon Blanc.

The red and rosé wines are made from Pinot Noir and Gamay grapes.

After buying some wine at Cave Nerot around the corner, this wine maker is well worth a visit and some of your money (I did spend some of mine :-) ). I would say the Licotes (red) and the Fernand & Sons (white) are exceptional and worth the trip.
