An exceptional terroir

Nestled between the Loire and Layon, on the borders of Anjou and Saumur, the Domaine de la Grézille vineyard covers 21 hectares.

It is rooted in the 15-million-year-old limestone marine sediments of the Falun Sea. This exceptional terroir imparts a unique character to the Domaine's wines.

It is in this magnificent region where the history of men, vines and wine is intertwined, that Anne and Bruno Paillocher settled in 1996 to realize their dream as winemakers: to produce authentic wines, both delicate and complex, and to create ephemeral vintages.

Artisan wines

The philosophy of Domaine de la Grézille is to maintain balance from the soil to the bottle, right up to your glass. The patience and craftsmanship of the winemaker will allow for an expression of the terroir, stability and perfect balance in the wines.

We were looking for a winery to visit near our rental. It was almost by chance that we arrived at Domaine de la Grézille, where Bruno welcomed us. What a pleasure to listen to him share his career, his passion for nature, and winemaking. A truly wonderful encounter with a passionate professional. We tasted some excellent wines. We highly recommend visiting this place. Thank you, Bruno.

A welcome full of passion for this terroir (and its history), from which Bruno Paillocher (with Anne's help) produces unparalleled signature wines in all three colors (Grolleau, Cabernet Franc & Sauvignon, and of course Chenin). Slow Wine aging (very long), mostly sulfite-free, produces mature wines of great complexity. *The walk through the vineyards is truly a plus, allowing you to experience the serenity emanating from these landscapes and reflected in the wines.

I just tasted La Galopinière in 2010, fabulous! I can't wait to discover the estate... So in the spring, I went to meet the winemakers, hiked through the vineyards, visited old cellars, and tasted some amazing "slow wine" wines—pure gems, captivating colors, complex aromatic intensities, wines to share with wine lovers, and to spend some truly wonderful moments.
