Château de Tracy, Historical Winery from 14th Century
Château de Tracy has been a family business since the 14th century. The family purchased the vineyards in the year 1396. They planted the vineyards with Sauvignon Blanc which is a crucial element of the Domaine and the Region even today. François Stutt married Françoise de Bar in the year 1586, who brought the Tracy Family seat as her dowry. Currently, Juliette is managing Château de Tracy and ensures the quallity level of production. The well-being of the vines are the main focus of the winemakers during their production.
The Fantastic and Beneficial Soils at Château de Tracy
The vineyard is scattered throughout 33 hectares on the slopes of the Valley. The soils include Kimmeridgian, flinty clay, limestone and marls which is essential to the wines of the Loire Valley. It enables the Sauvignon Blanc to express its diversity, complexity, and intense mineral notes. The limestone and flint soils are useful in highlighting the Sauvignon Blanc’s strength. The average production of Château de Tracy is around 54 Hl per hectare. The winemakers give particular attention to the best grapes during selection for high quality must. Château de Tracy follows sustainable growing pracitce in the vineayrds to ensure they respect for a healthy natural surrounding environment.
