Located in the stunning region of Provence, Domaine Fontaine du Clos is a family-run winery surrounded by the breathtaking peaks of Dentelles and Mont Ventoux. The Barnier family is dedicated to crafting high-quality wines, producing over 14 cuvées under the IGP Vaucluse and AOC Vacqueyras and Côtes du Rhône labels.
Generations of Winemaking Tradition
Since its establishment in the 1980s by Jean and Nicole Barnier, the winery has been a labor of love passed down through generations. Today, Jean-François and Céline Barnier continue this legacy, managing a thriving vine nursery and collaborating with partners across the globe, including the USA, Canada, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Vast Vineyards and Diverse Grape Varieties
The estate spans 100 hectares, with 14 hectares dedicated to Vacqueyras AOC and 13 hectares to Côtes du Rhône. The Barnier family cultivates a wide range of grape varieties, including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Caladoc, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, and Marselan. These grapes thrive in fertile soils enriched with large pebbles, benefiting from an ideal microclimate. Most vineyard and cellar activities are performed manually, ensuring quality and care in every bottle. Additionally, Céline and Jean-François supply grapes to several prestigious French wineries, further showcasing their commitment to excellence.
