Four generations of Winemaking at Cosme
Domaine Thierry Cosme the Beginning
Taking over the family business in 1988, Thierry Cosme started with 4.5 hectares. Today he operates 20 hectares of vines in AOC Vouvray and AOC Touraine. In 2019, the fourth generation, his son Tanguy joined the farm. The estate extends from Noizay to Chançay and the annual production reaches 1200 hectoliters.
The Vouvray appellation extends over 2250 hectares to the east of Tours, it is made up of a single grape variety: Chenin Blanc also called Pinot de la Loire. This AOC includes 7 municipalities: Rochecorbon, Vouvray, Chançay, Reugny, Parçay-Meslay, Vernou-sur-Brenne, Noizay.
In order to be more qualitative in its vinification, the estate has equipped itself with high-performance tools such as the pneumatic press and thermo-regulated stainless steel vats which ensure a permanent quality of the wines produced on the estate.
The follow-up of the vinification is done with the greatest respect for the Vouvrillonne tradition and the bottling is always done at the estate.
