Located along the picturesque banks of the Loire River and overlooking the enchanting isle of Behuard, Domäne Vincendeau is nestled in the beautiful Anjou region. Owned by Liv Vincendeau and her husband, this winery produces exceptional organic wines from estate-grown grapes cultivated across more than seven hectares of vineyards.

A Young German Woman's Passion for French Winemaking

In 2013, Liv Vincendeau settled in Rochefort-sur-Loire with her husband and established Domäne Vincendeau just a year later. With a deep understanding of grapes, wines, and terroirs, Liv brings a fresh perspective to winemaking, surpassing many traditional winemakers. Originally from Wiesbaden, Germany, she moved to the Loire Valley in the early 2000s to study winemaking. The winery is housed in a charming old building purchased by the couple in 2013, where Liv crafts organic white, sparkling, and dessert wines.

Organic Vineyards Near Angers, Rochefort-sur-Loire

The vineyards primarily feature the flagship Chenin Blanc, with vines ranging from 10 to 80 years old. Additionally, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, and newly cultivated Grolleau are also grown. The vineyard parcels are characterized by green and purple schist quartz. After hand-picking the grapes, Liv employs a Vaslin press for gentle extraction in the cellar, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks. For aging and refinement, a selection of wooden oak barrels is carefully arranged in the cellar, enhancing the quality of the wines.
