Hamacher Winery: a stone’s throw from Portland
After a few minutes in Portland, you reach the Hamacher Wines which was established in 1970. Eric Hamacher’s passion for wine developed while he was working at several restaurants in his youth. Initially, his eyes were set on the field of medicine which was replaced later by his love for wines. Eric has a degree in fermentation sciences from the prestigious UC Davis. After the degree, Eric travelled the world, exploring the world of winemaking and eventually, landing him jobs in California with Mondavi, Chalone and Etude.
Experience all the artisanal products
In 1995, he headed north to the Williamette Valley and founded his winery. He fought for the changes in Oregon State Law to enable multiple winery licensing in one facility. After succeeding the trial, Eric with his wife Luisa Ponzi and partners Ned and Kirsten Lumpkin co-founded Carlton Winemakers Studio in 2002. The studio was unique as it was a multi winery facility which enabled space and expertise sharing among small, high-end wineries, boutique and artisanal producers.
Taste the unique style of Oregon wines
They believe that the most complete wines are the ones which have grapes blended from multiple sites. The vineyards are filled with flourishing varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling which ultimately make the best red wine, white wine and rose wine.
The outstanding wines are served with the highest hospitality and care, making the guests come back for more, time and again
Hamacher’s believe in giving back to the society. They craft special vintage wines for auction and marathons and contribute the raised sum for relief.
