A Unique Underground Winery in Napa Valley
Family-Owned Winery in Napa Valley
Jarvis Estate is a family-run winery located in the heart of Napa Valley, founded by wine enthusiasts William and Leticia Jarvis. Nestled at the southernmost point of the valley, between Mt. George and Milliken Canyon, the estate's vineyards sit a thousand feet above the valley floor, offering breathtaking views and ideal growing conditions.
Unique Terroir of Jarvis Vineyards
The vineyards thrive in volcanic, mineral-rich soil that is well-drained and rocky. Most of the vines utilize an Extended Lyre canopy system, which allows for optimal sunlight exposure throughout the day. This innovative approach enhances the grapes' color and flavor, ensuring a rich and vibrant taste without any green or vegetal notes.
Innovative Winery and Cave
Jarvis Estate's winemaking facility is uniquely located within a 45,000-square-foot cave carved into the stunning Vaca Mountains, just four miles east of downtown Napa. This remarkable cave not only provides a beautiful setting but also maintains a consistent temperature and humidity, ideal for barrel aging. Jarvis Estate was the first winery in the U.S. to create a cave that accommodates the entire winemaking process, showcasing both artistry and engineering in wine production.
