Small-production La Bioca
La Bioca is a small-production winery in Langhe with the cellar located in Serralunga d’Alba along with the Farmhouse. The word “biòca” comes from the Piedmontese language and is used to describe a decisive person often with a “tough head,” just like them. With all their ambitions, they work hard to express the excellence of the land through high-quality, distinct wines. They own 9.1 hectares of vineyards that are exclusively used to make wines.
Beautiful surroundings and ideal conditions
Serralunga d’Alba is one of the most beautiful villages of Langhe, surrounded by medieval villages, beautiful vineyards, and a stunning landscape. The vineyards are spread over 9 plots in the best areas like La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Barbaresco, Rodino, etc. The terroir has sandy and clayey soil with limestone. The Temperate microclimate with concentrated rainfall is ideal for viticulture here. The harvest usually begins in September, and the best grapes are chosen for making wines. Rossese Bianco, Arneis, Favorita, Dolcetto, Barbera, Pelaverga, and Nebbiolo grapes are used by them.
The winery makes traditional Langhe wine
The traditional grape varieties are used to make wines, which include selections from old vineyards, two rose wines, sparkling and still wine, and red and white wines. They are experimenting with refinements and fermentation of various wines in amphora. Traditional Langhe wines are aged in wooden barrels, which gives the desired taste and aroma to the wines. Different wines are made as a result of the size of the barrels and the wood type used. Visit the estate for various wine tasting and tour experiences.
