Discover More Than 500 Years Of Wine History

The Wine Story That Is More Than 450 Years Old

Jo Francesco Mossi founded the winery back in 1558 and now currently owned by Cantina Mossi, the 14th generation of the Mossi family. Nestled on the hills of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna, the winery grows traditional varieties of the area, including Barbera and Croatina for red wines, Ortrugo and Malvasia di Candia Aromatica for white wines. Cantina Mossi has been taking care of the Malvasia Rosa, a very rare variety produced by only three wineries around the world. Silvia and Marco, a young couple who fell in love with the history and legacy of Mossi 1558 took over the winery from the hands of Luigi Mossi using his tips and secrets. The legacy continues with the enhancement of Ortrugo and Malvasia Rosa grapes, experimental research, and sustainability.

Their intense wines have both complexity and Mossi’s uniqueness.

Blend of Past and Innovation

Mossi takes pride to be one of three wineries in the world to produce wines with Malvasia Rosa. The winery has been taking care of the biodiversity and has 24 grape varieties in their experimental vineyard some of which are now exclusive to this collection. The winery has been a member of many sustainable organizations and has been using the sustainable and biodynamic approach to cultivate vines.
