Absolutely gorgeous spot to picnic on the grass (bring your own) under the trees and enjoy some wine and some Vietnamese food. Unfortunately the cellar door will not let you taste wine , but they do sell wine by the glass. There’s a pop-up Bia Hoi selling freshly made Vietnamese dishes. The “Bunnings sausage” was sensational, and the dumplings and pork bao both delicious. Very popular so get there early (before 12.30).

One of my all time faves! Visited again recently and the grounds had changed so much since the last time I’d been. It’s an absolutely breathtaking place. The staff are an absolute delight and so knowledgeable. We had a tasting, went with a glass of Pinot each & took home a bottle of their rosé. Gorgeous!

Visited ocean eight last week and we did a tasting and it was so gorg, the room where the bar is used to be a stable and is so nice and filled with light (even a lil dog that popped through). I don’t think we got the winemaker’s name but he was great and looked a bit like crispin glover and he told us about how they have a small team that are part of every bit of the winemaking process. We walked around the gardens and they were so enchanted fairy garden core, and there are so many lil spots to sit and drink a glass and feel like ur entering elfdom. loved the pinot gris

If you are planning a trip to the Mornington Peninsula, do yourself a favour and make sure you stop in to the Cellar Door at Ocean Eight Winery. The winery itself is so beautiful, the visual as you enter the driveway, framed with trees, hills in the backdrop... is just breathtaking. And then there are the wines... these wines are highly sought after and you will find them on the best bespoke wine lists in Melbourne restaurants. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. 100% recommend a trip to Ocean Eight Winery, my pick for the Mornington Peninsula. Enjoy!
