A Winery in Sicily

Step back in time to the late 19th century at Podere dell’Etna Segreta, a historic estate that was once home to the Benedictine nuns of Adrano until 1820. Spanning ten hectares, this unique property features diverse landscapes, including ancient orchards, vineyards, and meadows filled with medicinal herbs, hazelnut, and almond groves.

Hidden Gems of Etna

Wander through ten hectares of enchanting terrain, where you can find stunning lava flow grottos, ancient stone turrets, and impressive dry stone walls crafted by skilled local artisans. The property boasts terraced landscapes, winding paths through lush woodlands, and areas protected by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage - Etna Park.

Podere Dell'Etna Segreta: A Commitment to Quality

A visit to Podere Dell'Etna Segreta is an unforgettable experience. Our acclaimed red wines, Le Cùcchie and Le Cùcchie Oro IGT, reflect the essence of Etna, defying conventional winemaking standards. These wines have received numerous accolades, including a Gold Medal at the International Competition in Lyon and a Silver Medal with 93 points at the Oecanter in London. Crafted from Barbera, Grignolino, and a blend of indigenous grape varieties over thirty years old, these wines showcase the region's rich heritage.

Our vineyards are meticulously tended by hand, free from chemical treatments. We carefully thin the grape bunches before ripening and harvest in late October after allowing the grapes to dry on the vine. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, ensuring the highest quality. Additionally, we produce Il Maggiore EVO oil from olives harvested in late September and cold-pressed on the same day, resulting in a pure, unfiltered product.

This hotel is truly exceptional — one of the best I've ever experienced. The attention to detail and warm hospitality of the Grasso family, who owns and operates this place, make it truly stand out. From curated decor to thoughtfully arranged amenities, everything here feels carefully designed to offer comfort and relaxation. Breakfast in bed is a treat, and the on-site restaurant serves incredible local foods and wines, many of which are produced right on their beautiful property! The Grasso's have crafted a genuine, peaceful haven that blends perfectly with the natural surroundings of Mt. Etna

Discovered by chance, we literally fell in love with this enchanting place and its refined cuisine. I highly recommend the tasting menu, which allows you to taste the incredible culinary creations of the chef. Contrary to what you might think, the portions are perfect and prepared in the right quantities to allow the true "taste" of all the dishes. The impeccable service, praise to the girl who manages the room! We are back and will always return with great pleasure!!!

We had the most wonderful stay at this charming little wine farm! The location is perfect—just far enough from the city to enjoy the peace and quiet, but close enough to still feel connected. The views of Mount Etna in the distance were breathtaking, adding to the magic of the place. The staff were so warm and kind, and the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Traveling with a 2-year-old can sometimes be tricky, but they made us feel right at home, which we appreciated so much. I truly hope we get the chance to come back again one day. And a special mention for their wine—it's absolutely fantastic!

Great, family-run hotel with small bungalows. Host Mario creates a great atmosphere where you immediately feel welcome. The bungalows are well equipped and lovingly furnished, each bungalow has a small terrace. Breakfast can be ordered in the evening and is then delivered warm in the morning. And everything tasted excellent. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace with a view of the valley. The food is freshly prepared and tastes excellent. You can also drink wine from the hotel's own production. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
