Holds double Italian and Swiss organic certification for producing excellent wines.

Tenuta La Favola, a Winery at the Southernmost Point of Sicily

Tenuta La Favola is situated in the countryside south of Noto, in the southernmost point of Sicily, in an area called Buonivini. The imposing vineyards, olive plantation, stone walls, and experimental organic fields cover an area of 19 hectares. The streets between the rows of vines are white with limestone, and so at night, the land shines with the moon.

Giuseppe Di Natale, a Man with a Vision

In the 1800s, Giuseppe Di Natale moved from Syracuse to Pachino. He bought several properties including the Buonivini estate, where he cultivated Nero d’Avola vines, olive plantation, and carob trees. In 1908, Don Corrado, son of Giuseppe took over the family business and continued his father’s work with great passion and dedication. When Corrado’s daughter Maria got married, he passed the estate to his daughter and son-in-law as a dowry. They expanded the business and later in 2002, changed the name of the winery to Tenuta La Favola.

Real feel and care for nature

The care and love of nature shone through - full organic and natural classification. They want their wine to reflect their winery. The land is so dry with sandy soil it seems amazing anything can grow but the bright green vines shine on the white soil. Lovely tour where were shown the vines up close, use of herbs to retain moisture, the old cellars dating back 200 years and 5 generations. Tasting takes place in a lovely room overlooking the vines. The guide was friendly and no pressure. Nice bread and olive oil, dried tomatoes and olives served. Really interesting landscape which they really care for. We are not wine experts but highly recommend the experience.
