About Monti Rossi Etna Wines

Founded by Ture Alì, a passionate advocate of Sicilian culture and nature, Monti Rossi Etna Wines began its journey in 2011 with the planting of the first vineyard in Nicolosi. Ture recognized the unique potential of the Etna terroir, envisioning it as a "cru" capable of producing exceptional wines. He nurtured the vineyard by aligning his practices with the natural rhythms of the environment. Over the years, his dedication resulted in highly regarded wines, inspiring his daughter Irene and her husband Sebastiano to continue this family legacy.

Harmony with Nature

At Monti Rossi, we prioritize ecological balance. Our commitment to organic farming and manual vineyard care ensures that our wines reflect the natural environment. This approach results in vintage wines that are both eco-sustainable and true to their origins.

A Sustainable Vineyard

Etna South Nicolosi Monti Rossi: Since 2011, we have cultivated Nerello Mascalese at 722 meters above sea level, and since 2022, we have been growing Carricante on a historic vineyard planted in the “Alberello” style dating back to 1960 at 718 meters. The unique microclimates of Etna's Contrade (CRU) contribute to the distinct flavor profiles of our wines, combining the mountain's austerity with the sea's salinity. The vineyards benefit from significant day-night temperature variations, enhancing the aromatic complexity of the grapes and imparting a unique minerality from the volcanic soil.

Grape Varietals with Character

Nerello Mascalese has a rich history on the slopes of Etna, once considered an alternative to the renowned Falerno. This elegant wine features a delicate ruby red hue and transparent clarity, thanks to its moderate polyphenol content. Its refined aromas showcase red berry notes with a hint of spice, balanced by lively acidity, elegant tannins, and a pronounced minerality that reflects the volcanic terroir. The result is a wine that stands out for its finesse, structure, and depth.

I really enjoyed this experience at Sebastiano and Irene because it was more personal than at larger companies. Given that I have a basic knowledge of wine, I especially appreciated a proposed product that I will purchase through the site. The presence and friendliness of the owners (and also patience since we didn't want to leave 😆) was certainly a plus. See you soon!

The host, Sebastiano, was very nice and welcomed our party in to his vineyard. The service from him and his son was amazing. The wines that they provided were very nice, which was accompanied by a set menu of food which was all very tasty. Having the wine tasting set from 6pm is definitely the right choice, as it is a very comfortable temperature from that time is just right. It also allows you to sit and watch the sunset over his beautiful vineyard. This is a highly recommended experience!

Perfect experience! So much better than expected!! The food and the wines were amazing. Enough privacy to enjoy the food and wines, but also good knowledge about the place. Also a lot of good food (only the appertize is shown in the picture) and on top of that limonzello to digest. Super service and experience from Sebastiano!

I was looking for some fine wine to buy and I found myself almost by chance in a little corner of paradise, especially in the summer heat. A fresh, all-natural vineyard that produces an exceptional wine. I bought six bottles that I will gladly drink with friends and I will have more sent to me. Seeing, touching and smelling the same grapes, all natural, that you will then drink in wine is priceless. The idea of giving the possibility of tasting accompanied by typical Sicilian products is excellent.

They served us an aperitif in a quiet and relaxing place, tasting an excellent wine accompanied by typical home-made products. We were pampered by Sebastiano and Irene, surrounded by vineyards and quiet with a wonderful view of the Mongibello. Fantastic experience!
