Poderi Morini, Where Vines Grow Around the Oriole Tower
Surrounded by the magnificent hills of Romagna, the Poderi Morini Winery is resided in Oriolo dei Fichi, above Faenza – an area that has a long history of winemaking. Around the Oriole Tower, the vineyards of Poderi Morini are expanded over an area of 40 hectares among the gentle hills. The surroundings are so mesmerizing that they can spellbind anyone who visits it.
A Former Farm Turned into a Flourishing Winery
Started with great enthusiasm in 1998 by father, Natale Morini, Poderi Morini was a poultry and agriculture farm. Later, when Alessandro Morini took over the business, he started the production of quality grapes, along with his wife, Daniela. Today, the couple has put their body and soul into the delivery of world class wines, including red and white wines, in combination with dessert and sparkling wines. Each wine tells the story of the terroirs of the Romagna DOC regions.
Manual Picking of Grapes Ensures High Quality Material
The rows of grapes enjoy a favourable microclimate, filled with the Adriatic breeze and the winds of Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. Alessandro grows a vast range of grapes, including tasty Sangiovese, Albana, and Centesimino, together with high-quality Longanesi and Pignoletto. During the harvesting season, the staff manually pic the best bunches of grapes and move them to the cellar of the winery for fermentation. Surrounded by lush vineyards, Poderi Morini’s cellar is located in the heart of the winery. It is equipped with modern machinery and advanced technologies. The underground cellar provides optimum and favorable temperature conditions to suitably age the wines in French, Austrian, and American oak barrels.
