The Quinta Monteiro de Matos is a family-owned winery that is currently run by the third generation of the family. Present in the Tejo region, Antonio Monteiro de Matos started the winery in the middle of the twentieth century. After two decades, in 1975, Antonio de Matos bought more land with the aim to plant more vineyards so that he could make more wines as the demands were increasing every year at a high rate. With the third generation now, their wines have a presence in over 20 countries, and their exports account for over 75 percent of their total sales. Their collection of wines ranges from entry-level to medium to the best high-end wines that are recognized with a seal of quality.
