A Splendid Winery Crafting the Best of the Region

Fiuza & Bright, established in 1985, is a remarkable partnership between the Fiuza family, who have deep roots in viticulture, and Peter Bright, a celebrated Australian oenologist. For over a century, the Fiuza family has been dedicated to winemaking in the Tejo Region, becoming pioneers in cultivating French grape varieties in Portugal. The winery specializes in crafting a diverse selection of single-variety wines, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling options.

Vines and Wines of the Winery

The wines of Fiuza are crafted from grapes grown on their estates, which feature clay-limestone soils. Grapes are harvested both manually and mechanically, ensuring high quality. Key red varieties include Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The white varieties consist of Alvarinho, Arinto, Vital, and Fernão Pires. The two estates, Quinta da Requeixada and Quinta da Granja, span 120 hectares in the Ribatejo region, specifically in Almeirim and Santarém. The unique combination of clay, limestone, and sandy soils, along with favorable microclimates, creates ideal conditions for producing exceptional grapes.

A Blend of Tradition and Modern Technology

This historic winery beautifully merges traditional winemaking practices with modern technology. Recently, the building was adorned with vibrant graffiti by two Portuguese artists, adding a fresh charm to its appearance. The quality of Fiuza wines has garnered recognition both nationally and internationally, receiving accolades from prestigious publications and competitions, as well as praise from wine enthusiasts who appreciate their offerings.

Great company, great people. Truck was ready to leave in 1 hour. Park your truck on the street next to the orange building, best way to get there on the map
