Passion-Driven Winery

Toby and Dianne, the dedicated owners of Rahona Valley, always dreamed of owning land on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. In July 2014, they found their perfect spot—a hidden vineyard nestled in a serene valley. Captivated by the beauty of the property, they embarked on a new chapter in the wine industry. At that time, Rahona Valley was one of the smallest commercial vineyards in the Mornington Peninsula. Since then, they have expanded their production, acquired additional vineyards, built a state-of-the-art winery, and established the Australian Cuvée Centre, a specialized facility dedicated to crafting exceptional sparkling wines in collaboration with other Victorian wineries. Their story is one of passion and commitment to quality.

Sustainable Farming Practices

At Rahona Valley, the goal is to create the finest wines through sustainable farming and advanced vineyard management techniques. Their eco-friendly practices include using miniature sheep for natural lawn maintenance and weed control, minimizing herbicide and pesticide use, and composting green waste to enrich the soil. They also focus on regular vine maintenance, including trimming and de-suckering, intensive canopy management, and careful bunch thinning to ensure the highest quality fruit. Water conservation is a priority, along with enhancing the local ecosystem by removing invasive species and promoting native plants.

Exceptional Sparkling Wines

The cool climate of the Mornington Peninsula is ideal for producing outstanding sparkling wines, particularly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, which are essential for Champagne. Crafting sparkling wine is a complex process that requires specialized equipment and expertise. To meet this challenge, the team at Rahona Valley established the Australian Cuvée Centre, bringing together skilled professionals dedicated to producing top-quality sparkling wines. Their commitment to excellence ensures that every bottle reflects the unique character of the region.

I made a mistake in my booking (for 2 months in the future). I emailed Dianne and she was happy to cancel my booking with no admin fee (100% of the money was back in my account the next day). That's good customer service - thank you.

What a fabulous wine bar in the heart of Dromana Industrial Estate! 8 of us went yesterday afternoon to celebrate a big birthday and it was perfect. Wonderful ambience, fantastic hosts, absolutely amazing selection of wines and wine tastings, and great food. I particularly loved the beautiful sparkling wines. Thankyou so much Toby and Diane. I can’t wait to come back!

👍 Fantastic place to visit for a day trip out of Melbourne CBD. Relaxing and peaceful outdoor atmosphere to enjoy great companies, food and wine tasting. Staffs were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in sharing stories of their winery and wine products. Also a great place to take amazing photos for social media, thoroughly enjoyed visiting Rahona Valley winery and cellar door. Perfect short stop over before or after visiting Mornington Peninsula hot springs. Definitely visit again very soon!
