Rob Dolan Wines, A Small Winery, 30 Minutes from Lovely Melbourne

Rob Dolan Wines is a small, family-owned winery, located at the gateway of the Yarra Valley, a thirty-minute drive from Melbourne’s Central Business District in Victoria. Rob Dolan, worked as a winemaker for some of Australia’s most respected wine labels for over twenty years. Passionate for helping others and well known for his cheeky character, Rob is a Yarra Valley Legen. In 2010, Rob launched his own label, Rob Dolan Wines, and purchased the Hardys Yarra Burn Winery that was already well-equipped with modern machines and technology. The winery was capable of producing 1000 tonnes for each vintage. In 2013, Rob Dolan Wines won the “”Newcomer Winery of the Year”” Award at the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion Awards. Their wines are famous all over Australia and also export to many countries, including the UK, Hong Kong, China, Canada, and Singapore.

Varieties Planted to Better Suit Varying Vineyard Conditions

When Rob started his winery, he chose the vineyards, which consistently produced the best grapes, and chose vineyards in multiple locations. Namely, Yarraland, Yering Park, Immerse, Willowlake, and HJ Estate. The vineyards are planted with varieties that suit the conditions in this region as he listens to the climate, the soil, and the sun. The main grape varieties grown include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Savagnin, Arneis, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon,and Shiraz.. The best-quality grapes go into the production of their world-famous red, white, rosé, dessert, and sparkling wines. Rob believes the best fruit - with a "less is more" approach in the winery is key to creating wines with elegance, structures and stunnning depth of flavor.

Locally-Made Products are also Sold in the Winery

There is a cellar door to accommodate visitors at Rob Dolan Wines. Their friendly staff members welcome visitors and guide them through the wine collection answering all questions and inquiries. Local products like stone and crow cheese are also processed here. The winery has received a Five Red Star rating that shows top quality and consistency.
