Santalba Winery

I highly recommend this wonderful little winery, a pleasure to visit and one you shouldn't miss on your trip to Rioja. In Gimeneo, near Haro and Laguardia, we tasted their excellent wines and enjoyed the hospitality of Roberto, who explained to us in a fun and educational way the entire wine culture, from the vines to the wineries, which his family, his father, and himself live with passion. I recommend you call and request a visit with a wine tasting. I can assure you, it will be unforgettable. Finally, around 3:00 p.m., he was kind enough to call several times to find a table for three couples who were meeting and wanted to eat there, at the Asador Ochavo de Sajazarra, where we ate high-quality food at an excellent price. In short, an unforgettable experience and spectacular wines.

On February 22nd we made a cofrevip to visit the wineries. When we decided to visit it, it caught our attention on the internet, but the experience there was even better. Roberto and Laura were first class hosts, they made sure we spent a great morning with an interesting visit to their wineries, which ended with a tasting of their wines. I highly recommend visiting their wineries and tasting their different wines. Very grateful for the kindness and treatment!

I visited the Santalba wineries with my wife and the experience was exceptional. Roberto, chemist and oenologist, lover of the vineyards and his profession, was the guide who explained his family winery from the land and the vines to the wine tasting, including the harvest of the vines and the entire racking that goes from fermentation to winemaking. Thanks to an experience box we had the pleasure of visiting the Santalba winery and it was truly an incredible experience. The visit was very interesting, with a detailed explanation of the winemaking process and the history of the winery. Roberto was very friendly and made us feel at home. The place itself is very nice, with a cozy and quiet atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a good glass of wine. Without a doubt, it is an experience that I would recommend to any wine lover or anyone who wants to learn more about the world of wine. I would repeat it without hesitation!

An experience out of 10!! The boy who guided us at all times was very attentive to everyone, in general exemplary treatment. My partner and I really enjoyed it and we will repeat the experience. An amazing experience and a great producer.

We arranged a tour and wine tasting with Roberto. He was quick to reply and we agreed on a suitable date and time. The tour was very educational and Roberto answered all of our questions. We can only highly recommend the tour and the tasting of wines was superb as well. Prices for the wines are of excellent value.

A visit to this family winery is truly a must. The wines are incredible. And Roberto's service was excellent, with his friendliness, attention and explanations about each bottle of wine, which helped us a lot when choosing which wines to take home...thank you!!!

Email ahead for a tasting or a tour. We emailed very last minute but we’re welcomed regardless. We had a lovely time tasting wines the son whose father started the winery. Delicious wines with many types from Orange to sparkling and the classic Riojas. Well prices and not Disneyland like or elitist like other wineries in the region. Bottles start at €8.

This winery is run by a family business and is a must visit if you are in the area. We got a tour by the owner, who gave us a lengthy explanation of the wine making process with much passion and dedication. They greatly value the organic production of wine. Very kind people!
