TABANCO EL PASAJE- Oldest Winery of Jerez, Spain
In the very heart of Jerez, Spain, between two of the most outstanding bars in the city and two steps from the Villa Marta Theater and the Post Office building, is located the TABANCO EL PASAJE winery. It is considered to be the oldest winery in the city.
History about the Winery
It was inaugurated by its first owner, Don José González Navarro, on December 16, 1925. The rich history of the year 1925 since the kings of Spain, Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia de Battenberg came to crown the Virgen del Carmen in the González Hontoria Park is the reason for various cultural events, operates and bullfights in the city. Many years ago in Tobanco, LOLA FLORES sang there in his youth and FERNANDO TERREMOTO danced. The winery is 95 years old. The atmosphere and charm of El Pasaje and their exquisite wines appeal to wine lovers everywhere. They also have exquisite tapas and portions that the visitors can savor.
They also have two daily flamenco live shows.
Different types of Wines
The wines, which are insurmountable, mostly come from Bodegas Artesannas EL MAESTRO SIERRA and from other selected and outstanding Bodegas Jerez like TIERRA DE CADIZ GONZÁLEZ BYASS, LUSTAU, ESTEVEZ, FUNDADOR, URIUM, HEREDEROS DE NICOLÁS MARTÍN, CAYETANO DEL PINO etc. They also sell to take away, in bulk and bottled, and with an excellent gift preparation.
The grape variety cultivated to produce these excellent wines is DESPACHO DE VINOS. The wines are classified under Bodegas Jerez labels. The prime wine categories are white wine, sparkling wine, dessert wine, and fortified wine.
