Tesalia, The Jewel of the South was born from the conviction that the things
that truly matter begin with a dream and are the result of perseverance,
patience, and professionalism.
Today, the winery stands as a benchmark in the production of elegant,
expressive red wines that reflect the unique character of their origin.
We craft highly exclusive wines in Arcos de la Frontera, under the influence of the Sierra de Grazalema and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Tesalia vineyard, owned by the Golding family, was planted in 2008, and its wines made their debut on the market in 2018. We currently commercialize four wines: Iceni, Arx, Tesalia and Neso.
Our wines come from grapes grown on 12.5 hectares of vineyard located in Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz, at the foot of the Sierra de Grazalema. This surface is divided into 12 independent plots, separated by wide paths.
We use an innovative training system in the region: Sprawl and Semi-Sprawl pergoles, designed to optimize canopy porosity and vineyard shading. This method maintains grape clusters and leaves at an ideal height to minimize soil heat reflection, thus enhancing ripening quality.
Our varietal selection combines native and international grapes. We are committed to reviving Tintilla de Rota, a historical variety from Cádiz, integrating it with globally
recognized grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah.
Vinification takes place in our winery—a modern and sustainable building that
integrates harmoniously with the surrounding landscape and vineyard. The winery
is largely built underground, taking advantage of the natural slope to reduce visual
impact and optimize energy efficiency.
This design enables gravity-flow winemaking and benefits from the thermal
inertia of the soil, promoting a respectful, low-intervention process that honors
both the raw material and the environment.
An unforgettable experience:
1. First we will visit the vineyard, where you can see the grape varieties with which our wines are made: Petit Verdot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and one of the most iconic of the area, Tintilla de Rota.
2. Afterwards, a guided tour of the facilities, where you will see and learn about all the processes the grapes go through to become wine, from harvesting to bottling.
3. After this comes the culmination of the process, the moment to appreciate all the work in a glass of wine. You will taste the flavor of the jewel of the south with a tasting of our 3 wines.
