Founded in 1998, Cortijo El Cura Eco-Bodega is proud to be the first producer of organic wines in Almería. Nestled at an altitude of 1000 meters within the stunning Sierra Nevada Natural Park, this winery benefits from a unique ecosystem rich in diverse flora. Located in the picturesque village of La Alpujarra, Cortijo El Cura is dedicated to crafting high-quality organic wines that respect the environment and promote sustainable practices. The winery adheres to traditional vinification methods while utilizing modern technology, ensuring that production focuses on quality over quantity.
Cortijo El Cura sources its grapes exclusively from its own vineyards, which span 25 hectares. Since its inception, the winery has followed organic farming regulations, with 15 hectares dedicated to old vineyards, some of which are over 40 years old. All wines are produced on-site in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, specifically in Laujar de Andarax, the capital of La Alpujarra in Almería. This region is steeped in history and natural beauty, making it an ideal location for cultivating exceptional organic wines.
