Tenute Lombardo: A Gem in Central Sicily

Located in the heart of Sicily, Tenute Lombardo spans 60 hectares across the picturesque landscapes of Caltanissetta and San Cataldo. The winery offers breathtaking views, from the northeast Madonnas to the majestic Mount Cammarata, just northwest of Licata Sea. This stunning scenery enhances the charm of the estate, making it a perfect destination for wine enthusiasts.

A Legacy of Passion and Dedication

With over fifty years of dedication to winemaking, Tenute Lombardo is a family-owned winery led by Giuseppe and his sons Salvatore, Gianfranco, and Roberto. The family has cultivated a diverse range of grape varieties in their vineyards. In 2006, they expanded their vision by not only growing grapes but also producing their own wines. By 2013, they renovated a historic farmhouse, rich in rural heritage, to serve as their winery.

Award-Winning Wines from Tenute Lombardo

The winery is known for its exceptional wines, crafted from a variety of grapes. Of the 60 hectares, 40 are dedicated to the renowned Nero d’Avola and Syrah, while the remaining 20 hectares feature high-quality Cataratto, Grillo, Moscato Bianco, Frappato, and Cabernet. Tenute Lombardo has received accolades for its premium red, white, and rosé wines, as well as sweet sparkling and dessert options. This winery is an ideal spot for wine lovers seeking to taste exquisite wines amidst stunning views.

Such a nice winery and a must visit when you are at Sicily. We drove from Cefalu, 1 1/2 hours but worth it. We tasted 2 sparkling, 2 white, rose, 2 red and their wonderful sweet red during lunch and before the lunch we had a tour of the winery and tasted some of the wines ‘unfinished’. The three brothers make great award winning wines and love to share the experience of their winery.

This was the perfect stop on the road between Agrigento and Cefalu for a lunch time wine tasting. We tried five wines: two white, a rose, and two reds. This was my favorite of the tastings we did in Sicily. The wine was the best and the food was a full meal worth of accompaniment. The tour guide (the founders granddaughter) was very knowledgeable. We were very lucky to arrive during vendemmia at the end of August so we could see the fabrication of the wine from grape to bottle. We even got to taste from the tanks in the fermentation process because they had just picked the grapes. It was an unseasonably hot summer in Sicily so this was lucky. The tasting property is stunning. Definitely stop here!

One of the best wine tasting experience I have ever had! We came four people for a wine tasting that turned out to be a winery tour as well! The tour and tasting were guided in English by the granddaughter of the winery founder, a lovely young lady who conducted the event so pleasantly and professionally. The place where the wine tasting took place was just beautiful and outstanding - the area itself, the property and the table setup that was pre-prepared. All the wines that we tasted were fantastic and all of us really enjoyed them - we tasted one sparkling, two whites, one rose and two reds. The wine tasting was accompanied by an open buffet of traditional Sicilian food - all dishes were so yummy and this was a great added value to the experience. The hosting was very generous and the hosts made sure that all guests enjoy the experience to its fullest. At the end of the event we bought bottles to take home with us and if I could fit more bottles in my suitcase I would have purchased more! Pricing of the wine tasting and bottles is fair with high VFM. I highly recommend to visit here while in Sicily - an amazing experience!

After tasting the deep sea wine of this winery in the restaurant, we visited it. The very friendly and knowledgeable Mr. Aldo accompanied us to visit the company, really beautiful and modern! The wines are in my opinion exceptional, full-bodied and fragrant. They really deserve it! Compliments
