Committed to Quality and Sustainability in Emilia Romagna
A Legacy of Vineyards, Tradition, and Sustainable Viticulture in Emilia Romagna
Founded in 1964, Umberto Cesari Winery is nestled in the picturesque hills of Castel San Pietro in Emilia Romagna. Our commitment to local grape varieties, such as Sangiovese, Albana, and Pignoletto, is complemented by the careful integration of international varieties. Over the years, we have witnessed our vineyards flourish alongside a growing understanding of the importance of our land. This awareness has guided us toward sustainable viticulture practices, ensuring that the grapes of tomorrow surpass those of today.
Where Tradition Meets Technology in Crafting Exceptional Wines
The heart of our winery lies in our state-of-the-art cellar, where our skilled oenologists oversee the wine production process. While fermentation is a natural process, advancements in technology allow us to monitor and enhance this phase, resulting in outstanding wines. During harvest, grapes are transported to the cellar within an hour of picking. After passing through the destemmer or optical sorter, white grapes are pressed, while red grapes are sent directly to the winemakers for fermentation.
Wine Tours Guided by Sommeliers
Our winery offers guided tours led by knowledgeable sommeliers, providing an opportunity to learn about our wines and the unique terroir of Emilia Romagna. These tours highlight our commitment to environmental stewardship and showcase the native grape varieties we cultivate. Join us for an informative tasting experience that highlights the craftsmanship behind our wines and the rich heritage of our region.
