Villa S. Anna - A Unique Winery in Tuscany

Located in the picturesque Tuscany region of Italy, Villa S. Anna stands out as a winery with a distinctive feminine touch. Under the guidance of Simona Ruggeri Fabroni and her daughters, Anna and Margherita, this all-women team is dedicated to enhancing the quality of their wines. They focus on high-density vineyard planting, timely barrel replacements, and meticulous care of their historic underground cellars, where wines age naturally.

A Rich Heritage

Villa S. Anna has a rich history, with the estate being in the Ruggeri Fabroni family for nearly 200 years. The winery's cellars, dating back two centuries, are steeped in tradition, and visitors can learn about this fascinating history during vineyard tours.

Set on the hills surrounding Montepulciano, the winery is celebrated for its exceptional wines, including Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG, Rosso di Montepulciano DOC, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.

Grape Varieties

The vineyards at Villa S. Anna cultivate a selection of grape varieties, including Sangiovese, Merlot, Mammolo, Canaiolo, and Colorino. These grapes are carefully fermented and aged in the cellars, resulting in high-quality red wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

A unique experience. The place is charming and oozes history, study and sacrifice, all absolutely rewarded by the excellent wines they make. Wines that, as a person with little tolerance for sulphites, I can say are excellent, I had a great time after tasting them. The fact that it is a company run solely by women has a quid pluris that in my opinion is not insignificant. We were welcomed by the kind and professional Caterina who works in the company and accompanied us throughout the journey. There is little that can be done when a company works, it is also noticeable in the passion transmitted by those who work there, Caterina's passion went straight to our hearts and to our glasses! She described each wine as if it were her own product, infusing us with all the study behind each wine and the affection of Mrs. Simona Ruggeri Fabroni (owner of Villa San Anna). All remarkable wines, an exclusive place in the heart but she left us with the vin santo, the real one! Ad mayor.

What can I say, definitely the best tasting we had during our trip to discover local wines. The winery is spectacular and Mrs. Simona really manages to convey all the passion and love she feels for her company. During the tasting she gave us several interesting insights into her products served along with a selection of local products. I recommend everyone to visit this winery and above all to buy wines that are really interesting and good.

Fantastic wine with great surprise for the Chianti in Colli Senesi: pleasant discovery and a must try! Very nice tour of the property, with explanation of all details about wine making made it easier to understand for every level of wine knowledge, ending with wine tasting paired with some local cold cuts and cheese. Staff and owner were extremely nice also in accommodating us traveling with a small child. Totally recommended!

We visited the winery in the early afternoon during the weekend of April 25th. The reservation was easy via email. The owner, Mrs. Simona, accompanied us on a very interesting tour with a final tasting for almost two (very pleasant) hours. There were only two of us and yet the lady was helpful, welcoming and very kind. The winery is 10 minutes from Montepulciano, a very beautiful place with truly fascinating environments and a story that Mrs. Simona tells with love. And the wines are truly truly excellent. Highly recommended
