Established in 1962, this cooperative was formed to unite their 430 hectares of vineyards, fulfilling the aspiration of local farmers to produce wines that represent their community. Today, the winery stands as a testament to their commitment and passion for winemaking.
Located in the renowned Rioja region, Viñedos De Sonsierra benefits from diverse terroirs that contribute to the creation of exceptional wines. The estate cultivates Tempranillo, Viura, and Garnacha grapes, producing a variety of red, rosé, and dessert wines. The vineyard area has expanded to 516 hectares, benefiting from a climate that features moderate rainfall and significant temperature variations between day and night. The soil, rich in limestone and composed of silts and clay, provides an ideal foundation for viticulture.

Write a reviewOn our winery routes through La Roja, we arrived in the small town of San Vicente de S., where the beautiful Sonsierra winery is located. The winery, owned by the farmers of the area, offered us a wonderful wine experience. We really enjoyed the exceptional guided tour given by Lorena. Lorena is an expert in the world of wine and with her extensive experience she guided us through the visit, telling us the history of the winery and discovering secrets that we did not know. We were surprised to learn that the Sonsierra winery is the only one that has an exclusive room for Singulares wines, where Lorena told us about the winery's projects with these Singulares wines, maintaining the roots of its tradition. During the visit, tastings are held in different places of the winery, accompanied by delicious tapas, where you can enjoy the magnificent facilities that combine technology and tradition. We thank Lorena for this special experience. Highly recommended for any wine lover who wants to visit a unique winery. We will definitely be back.

If you are in the area and want to visit a small winery and enjoy a friendly treatment, Sonsierra is undoubtedly the ideal winery. Lorena is a wine expert and it is clear that she enjoys her work. We felt very comfortable and learned details and anecdotes about the world of wine that we did not know. Also worth highlighting is the tasting at different points of the winery during the course of the visit. Highly recommended, we were very satisfied! ☺️

It was a pleasant surprise to discover Bodegas Sonsierra and Lorena, who was in charge of showing us around and accompanying us throughout the experience at the winery. We were very happy with the visit. Lorena was attentive to our well-being at all times, making sure we didn't lack anything and that we understood all the information she gave us. The truth is that we found the visit to be super enjoyable. It was a great idea to do the tasting during the visit, and not at the end, as usually happens in other places. 100% recommended. We will definitely speak highly of our visit to Sonsierra, and of course of Lorena! Thank you! ❤️😍

The most recommendable of all. Visiting the Sonsierra wineries has been an unforgettable experience. The guide was exceptional, not only for her kindness and closeness, but also for her ability to adapt the visit to our personal tastes. We had the opportunity to participate in the grape harvest, which made the experience even more authentic and special. Her presentation was impeccable, making each explanation about the winemaking process fascinating. The tasting was perfectly directed, allowing us to enjoy each wine with deep knowledge and genuine appreciation. Her passion and knowledge can be seen in every detail, which made the visit enriching and unique. Without a doubt, an experience to repeat!

We had a a fabulous day with Lorena and a nice kayak tour combined with the wine experience. We have done many wine tours in Europe and California and this was top notch! We so enjoyed it!
