Our Story

Weingut Bertram Isele has its roots in a commitment to organic farming, initiated by Bertram Isele's parents in 1973 when they transitioned the winery to Demeter standards. Growing up in this pioneering environment, Bertram has always been deeply engaged in viticulture.

Since taking over the winery in 2001, Bertram has focused on nurturing the land and harnessing nature's potential to create remarkable wines. He believes that maintaining a healthy soil ecosystem is key to producing complex and flavorful wines.

“The easiest thing to make good wine with is to keep the soil in a good, natural balance. Then there are great and complex wines.”

Award-Winning Quality

Under Bertram's stewardship, Weingut Bertram Isele has gained recognition for its multiple award-winning wines. Together with his wife Mika, who hails from Japan, they craft wines that reflect the unique terroir of Baden. Their dedication to quality and sustainability has earned them a loyal following among wine enthusiasts.

Whether you are a seasoned wine lover or new to the world of wine, Weingut Bertram Isele offers a delightful experience that showcases the best of Baden's viticulture.

The winemaker took time for us and we were able to taste all the wines that interested us in peace. The Cabernet Carbon, the dry Pinot Blanc and the Rosé are excellent!

We really enjoyed our vacation at the winery. Mr. Isele took a lot of time for us, explained biodynamic viticulture and invited us to the vines. The holiday apartment is well furnished and lovingly designed, and we were also able to use a large terrace.

You can have a lovely, relaxing holiday here, which we have tried several times over the years. The winery as a starting point for walks, hikes and excursions - but above all you can get excellent, top-class organic wines that have their very own character! We've enjoyed this too for years.
