Gindorf Winery: A Boutique Gem in the Mosel Valley

Gindorf Winery, nestled in the picturesque Lieser region of the Mosel Valley, is a family-run boutique winery operated by an American ex-pat family. The vineyard's location on the sun-kissed hillsides allows the grapes to thrive, showcasing the unique terroir of the area.
Three generations of the Gindorf family are dedicated to crafting exceptional wines.
After falling in love with the stunning Mosel vineyards during a trip to Europe, Pam and John Pfeiffer relocated from Texas to Germany and established the winery in 2016. Today, they work alongside their son, Matt Braun, who oversees wine production, and their daughter, Kristi Braun, who manages the guesthouse.

Signature Varieties: Riesling, Weißburgunder, and Spätburgunder

At Gindorf Winery, the focus is on premium Mosel grape varieties, including Riesling, Weißburgunder, and Spätburgunder. The estate also cultivates Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, and Dornfelder. The Pfeiffer family produces a diverse selection of red and rosé wines, as well as high-quality white and sparkling wines. The wines are aged in wooden barrels to enhance their flavors, and the bottled wines are carefully stored in lattice boxes.

Comfortable Guesthouse with Scenic Views

Gindorf Winery features a well-appointed guesthouse, perfect for visitors looking to extend their stay. The cozy farmhouse rooms offer stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and come equipped with modern amenities, including a shower, toilet, TV, sunlit balcony, kitchen, and bar. Enjoy a relaxing retreat in the heart of the Mosel wine region.

A warm welcome and fully engaged, attentive and passionate host. We departed much wiser on winemaking and the different grapes. We were served a small tapas selection.

We had a fantastic experience at this charming family-run winery. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed—there’s a relaxed, comfortable vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The tasting room is beautifully set up, inviting yet unpretentious, with plenty of space to enjoy the wines without feeling rushed or crowded. Matt was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the wines, but also the vineyard’s history and the winemaking process. Each wine we tried had character and depth, and the tasting was well-paced with thoughtful explanations that enhanced the whole experience. This is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon—small, personal, and full of heart. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore quality wines in a setting that feels like home.

amazing experience

it was a fantastic experience! The host took all the time to show me and my partner the different vineyards during a nice walk. in the process we learned a huge amount about the characteristics of a good vineyard and why a grand cru vineyard is so special. We then arrived at a table in the middle of the vineyards where we were able to enjoy different wines. Of course there were several wines that were also really very tasty, we were able to purchase these for a very nice price. Highly recommended!!!!!

Wonderful experience, full 8 wine tasting with an option for English explanations (very welcome for a group of Americans). We left with a great basic understanding of wines in the region and enjoyed the story of the Weingut. Would highly recommend!
