Old Winemaking Roots with Innovative Ideas
The story of the winemaking family began in 1653 with Eucharius Lehnert. Today, with complete dedication to protecting their ancestors’ legacy, the Lehnert Family’s 10th generation is handling the estate. They have combined conventional grape cultivation and wine production with innovative ideas, thus, delivering world-class German wines under the Qualitätswein and Prädikatswein labels. In 2013, the owners unveiled the new cellar, equipped with modern techniques, and a new wine shop for wine tastings and tours.
Main Cultivated Grapes and an Overnight Stay at the Winery
The Lehnert Family handles its vineyards with care and grows top-notch vines, including Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, together with high-quality Merlot and Chardonnay. These grapes reflect their origin in Mosel’s finest winegrowing regions, such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Falkenberg, and Günterslay. Some vineyards are situated in Treppchen, Grafenberg, and Großer Herrgott, establishing 11.5 hectares for the winery. Using integrated viticulture and handpicking techniques, only the best bunches make their way to the winery for fermentation.
For an overnight stay, a short vacation, or a weekly trip, the estate provides accommodation facilities to their farmstead guests. The property consists of 13 double rooms and two single rooms, equipped with private bathrooms, shower, satellite TV, and free wifi, keeping in mind the daily needs of modern tourists.
