Company Introduction

In the mid 80`s Markus Molitor took over the winery from his father as the eight generation Molitor. He wanted to return the estates´ wines to the golden age of Riesling from the Mosel with wines that are extremely representative of their terroir and can be aged for a long time. For this reason, its work is based on the following principles: Uncompromisingly meticulous, manual work in the vineyards and cellar, and respect to the grapes and the wine.

Each individual Molitor wine - whether white or red; dry, off-dry or sweet; with or without Prädikat – reflects the potential of its vineyard and vintage. Each is as singular, authentic and expressive as possible. The vineyards are located from Brauneberg to Traben-Trarbach and since 2001 also in the Saar valley. As it has been for centuries, the wines are spontaneously fermented and matured in large oak casks, with no fining, no enzymes, no cultured yeast, nor any other correctives. The old three-story deep cellar is carved into the slate rocks of the hillside and provides an optimal, consistently cool and humid climate. Markus Molitor wines incorporate the almost infinite range of flavors and styles found in Mosel Rieslings – a unique balance of fruit and minerality, sweetness and acidity.

We were amazed by the quality of the wines we tasted. They produce up to 80 wines from 180 hectares of vineyards. We narrowed the selection to non-Troken wines. It's worth noting that they even offered wines that were twenty years old, and even a TBA! The hospitality was excellent, both in terms of location and tasting management.

It was our pleasure to visit this great winery. We concentrated to taste Trocken Rieslings of middle Mosel river. Our guide was very nice and professional. Pictures of different grape varietes was excellent to understand every quality. We really enjoyed every moment. Finally found our favorite one too.

A delightful wine tasting with fascinating insights into the extraordinary world of wine presented by Markus Molitor. The tasting, spanning the entire wine list, was superbly curated, and the guidance was expert yet pleasantly unobtrusive. A must for every wine lover – excellent wines, an inspiring atmosphere, and a truly memorable experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of attending Markus Molitor's anniversary presentation on September 19, 2025, and what can I say: simply breathtaking! 🍷✨ I've known and appreciated Markus Molitor's wines for over fifteen years, and finally meeting him in person was truly special. His son was also there. It's wonderful to see that the passion is being passed on to the next generation. The event was perfectly organized: – All the wines from the 2024 vintage were available for tasting (including wines costing up to €600 – with no limit!). – An excellent three-course menu by Michelin-starred chef Alexander Kunz on the rooftop terrace, which far surpassed the quality of typical catering. 🍽️ – Guests could arrive flexibly between 12 pm and 6 pm, enjoy relaxed tastings, and receive expert advice. The entire team was there, friendly, competent, and genuinely passionate about what they did. 🙌 A particularly positive aspect: there was never any pressure to buy. The focus was solely on getting to know the wines. You can order later at your leisure in the online shop. The value for money was absolutely unbeatable. €60 for the day was a steal, considering everything that was offered. The menu with wine and water alone would have been worth it. My conclusion: I will definitely be back every year! 🍇 Thank you to Markus Molitor and the entire team for this wonderful experience. 🙏🏼

Best wine tasting we have ever had the pleasure of. Our amazing host, who spoke very good English, explained to us all the intricacies and details of German and Mosel wine making, while showing us a range of products which made you appreciate the good stuff so much more (although everything was good). Really recommend everyone to visit for a tasting.
