About Weingut Iselin

Welcome to Weingut Iselin, where Sara and Rainer Iselin have dedicated 35 years to preserving the rich cultural heritage of wine in the picturesque Murg Valley. Located in the historic town hall of Gernsbach, we have transformed our winery into a hub of enjoyment and cultural vibrancy. Our commitment to crafting exquisite wines ensures that each bottle reflects our passion for quality, artistry, and inspiration. We hope you find as much joy in our wines as we do in creating them.

Organic Vineyard

Our Grossenberg Staufenberg vineyard stretches south-southeast into the Murg Valley, nestled at the base of the Merkur Mountains, which rise 313 meters (1,027 feet) above sea level. We prioritize biodiversity by nurturing a variety of native plants and animals that thrive alongside our grapevines. This harmonious ecosystem contributes to the health and richness of our grapes. We strictly avoid synthetic chemicals, opting instead for natural fertilizers and minerals to nourish our vines. Adhering to the European Common Market Standard for Ecological Agriculture, we aim for a sustainable balance between economic viability and environmental stewardship.

Winemaking at Weingut Iselin

At Weingut Iselin, we press our organically grown, ripe white wine grapes as whole varieties, while red wine undergoes mash fermentation. Our light, fruity white wines are fermented and stored in stainless steel tanks, ensuring they remain pure and untainted by wood or oxidation. For red wines with an alcohol content of 13% and above, we utilize wooden barrels, allowing for unique micro-oxidative and microbiological processes. This careful approach results in classic red wines that showcase the character of their vintage. Our goal is to produce single-varietal, single-vintage, and single-vineyard wines that reflect the true essence of nature.

A very pleasant atmosphere with delicious wine. And all this in the old town hall of Gernsbach. The owner, Ms. Sara Iselin, is very sweet and friendly. There's also an exhibition by the artist Arturo Laime running until mid-December. His paintings are very beautiful and colorful. All on the Black Forest theme. I really like it. Keep up the good work.

If you want to experience a special and beautiful wine experience then you should definitely visit this wine shop with the beautiful wine cellar / tasting place? Some wines are so tasty and special that you cannot compare them with anything! The woman of the winery is a special and warm lady who knows how to guide and inform you with a lot of knowledge, expertise and patience, with love for the profession! One of the best addresses for top quality in terms of wines / vinegars and hospitality! Really worth five stars

Great and extremely nice owners. I visited this place with a large corporate group. The tasting was prolonged... The purchased wines were left next to the table when we left the premises in a hurry. The owners sent the item back to Poland in response to my request via e-mail. The shipping was not cheap, but the souvenir finally reached me without any damage. Many thanks again Winegut Iselin. Probably see you soon.

The Iselin winery hosted our champagne reception at our civil wedding. Everything was perfect, from the first coordination meeting to the reception itself. With her friendly and courteous manner, Ms. Iselin not only made us, but also our guests, very happy and even accommodated special requests in advance. Thank you very much. C&A
