Kilian Hunn is a traditional family-owned winemaking business located in the heart of the Baden region, in the trilateral border among Black Forest, Switzerland, and France. The vines of the estate, surrounded by panoramic landscapes, emboss the terroirs and the soils in which they are grown. Apart from producing mouth-watering wines, the company also deals in non-alcoholic grape juices.
Today, the fifth generation of the Hunn family manages all the winery operations with enormous dedication and respect for the family legacy. All the family members work together with a passion that results in the production of excellent wines. Kilian Hunn, the winemaker and the owner of the estate, carefully monitors the winemaking stages. The winery, today, is equipped with modern, eco-friendly technologies clubbed with traditional methods.
On the slopes of Tuniberg, the Hunn family cultivates many distinct varieties of Burgundy vines, such as top-notch Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. Various other grape types the estate grows are vibrant Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gutedel, and Auxerrois. With selective hand-picking methods, the berries are processed in the stainless steel tanks. The estate’s prestigious wines, including red, white, and rose wines, have won many awards during international wine competitions. They also produce delicious sparkling and dessert wines.
In combination with the contemporary cellar, the winery also has a home distillery. Moreover, the wine tasting for guests takes place in Strausse – an open-air, flowery decorated courtyard or in a cozy dining room.
