Krispel Winery, At the Center of Stunning Volcanic Landscapes
Krispel Winery lies at the center of a stunning volcanic landscape in the southeastern part of Styria. Green forests and dense hills surround the estate, and the family has been producing wines of the highest quality for two generations. The winemakers have a lot of experience and knowledge with their primary goal to integrate the maximum of natural qualities into their wines. The Krispels adopted the wooly pig, which is one of the pure pig breeds in Europe.
Krispel Winery is known for producing high-class single-vineyard wines that tell us about their terroir features.
A Superb Location for the Vineyards
The vineyards are present in some of the best locations with an excellent combination of soil, temperature, rainfall, and climate to cultivate vines. The main types of grapes grown include Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. The best grapes go into producing their world-class red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines. The wines are made in the wine cellar, where the grapes are brought to further processing.
The Winemaking Process at the Winery
The grape juice is made to ferment with the addition of yeast or spontaneously by the surrounding yeasts. The fermentation process takes around 10 to 30 days, and the temperature should be kept constant. Otherwise, fermentation will stop, and sugar will remain in the wine, creating a completely different wine style. The wines undergo aging in steel tanks or wooden barrels to attain their characteristic taste and intense aroma.
