Müller-Kern Winery, an Internationally Recognized Winery
Müller-Kern Winery is present just below the Hambach Castle and has vineyards in Pfalz’s best winegrowing regions. The idyllic wine village of Hmabach is located south of Neustadt an Weinstrasse; the streets are packed with old winemakers’ homes. Müller-Kern Winery claims to make some of the best wines globally, and their distinct local wines have received international recognition and fame because of their qualities. The region has an abundance of almond trees, chestnuts, figs, and kiwi. Many Pfalz wine festivals take place here on the weekend along the German Wine Route.
About the Winemaker
Mariita Müller-Kern was dedicated to winemaking since childhood, and she became the Palatinate Wine Queen in 1976. Her son, Steffen, became a wine ambassador and is a trained winemaker. He is a graduate in oenology and takes care of the wine production, storage, and bottling of the winery’s wines.
Müller-Kern Winery’s unique wines have won multiple awards, including the Chamber of Agriculture’s title ‘House of Award Wines’ in 2010.

Their vineyards enjoy warm and sunny weather, which, along with various soil types, makes the region suitable for vine cultivation. The use of ecological and sustainable methods allows them to protect the environment and their vines from damage. The main grape varieties found here are Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. The grapes are used to produce red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines.
