Located in the picturesque village of Herxheim Am Berg along the German Wine Route, Weingut Werner Pfleger is a boutique winery dedicated to producing high-quality wines that meet international standards. The estate offers a diverse selection of red, white, and sparkling wines, along with delightful dessert options, all crafted with care and expertise.
Established in a charming building dating back to 1913, the winery resembles a classic Palatinate château. Its unique design features a glass-roofed inner courtyard and a spacious basement. Inside, you will find 200 French oak barrels, where the aging and refining of wines take place. The estate has received the Federal Honorary Award for five consecutive years, recognizing its excellence in winemaking. Today, Georg Jakob Pfleger oversees all operations, cultivating a variety of grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir for reds, as well as Riesling, Chardonnay, and Burgundian varieties for whites.
The Pfleger family offers a charming venue for both private and public events in their atrium, featuring an antique inner courtyard perfect for weddings, birthdays, and corporate gatherings. Guests can also enjoy the botanical garden, home to rare plant species and orchids, complete with wine tasting tables and elegant furnishings. This serene setting provides an ideal backdrop for memorable celebrations.

My family and I visited Weingut Pfleger this past August and had a spectacular experience. My uncle, a long time customer, has been urging us to visit him in Germany for a wine tour for years. Needless to say it was an amazing tour and Pfleger was the crown jewel of the visit. The weingut is gorgeous, unassuming yellow castle on the outside and gorgeous greenhouse on the interior decorated with antiques. Georg and his wife Janina are spectacular hosts - walking us through a very impressive lineup of all of their wines. Our favourites were their Riesling Spatlese GG and their Pinot Noir GG - outstanding wines at amazing prices. If in Weinstraße you cannot go wrong here for a visit and my goodness if you see one of their wines on shelf or on a menu - order it!

My husband has been buying wine from the Pfleger winery for over 4 decades because it is very good! We have met many winemakers, our main supplier has always been Georg Pfleger. We live near Hanover, far from Herxheim am Berg. About every 2 years we go on a weekend trip to fill up our private wine cellar. Georg Pfleger is our most important stop! Georg has very good wines, an extensive selection, and all at a very good price-performance ratio. We had several wine tastings with our families at his place, all of which were great!! We were always given a very warm welcome and hospitality by him and his wife Janina!!! We enjoy the beautiful ambience of his premises, it never ceases to amaze us. This year we visited several wine-growing regions with the family. The wine tasting at Pfleger's was the highlight of this trip for all of us!!! We are already looking forward to the next time!

We recently held a family celebration in the wonderful rooms. The Pfleger family gave us great advice and support during the organization. The wines are excellent and there was something for everyone. Everything ran smoothly and everything was taken care of. Even when the caterer forgot the soup bowls. The service is discreet but also personal. We have already held 3 family celebrations here and I can only recommend it without reservation.

We celebrated our wedding at the Pfleger winery about three weeks ago. It was indescribably beautiful. Everything started with the preparations and planning. Mrs. and Mr. Pfleger are so uncomplicated and open to everything you want as a bride and groom. They helped and supported wherever they could. You also helped us wherever possible with the decoration of your winery and with the preparations the day before our big celebration. Our 30 guests felt very comfortable and are still raving about it today, which of course makes us all the more pleased as the bride and groom. The wines and drinks from the winery tasted very good. Some of our guests took wine home with them. One thing is certain: We will never forget this day and should we look for a location to celebrate with family and friends again in the future, it will always be at Weingut Pfleger.
