From Friendship to Organic Winemaking Excellence
Wine Art Ltd (dba Ethno Wines) was founded in 2012 by two friends with diverse backgrounds in banking, finance, telecom, healthcare, and real estate. Their shared passion for winemaking led them to create a thriving organic winery in the heart of Kakheti, Georgia.
The Winemaking Heritage of Wine Art / Ethno
Our wines are crafted from 100% estate-grown grapes, sourced from 28 hectares of vineyards across three distinct areas of Kakheti: Khashmi, Manavi, and Shilda PDOs. This region is renowned for its rich winemaking traditions. We cultivate indigenous grape varieties, including Saperavi, Budeshuri, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli, Kisi, and Khikhvi. All vineyard activities are performed by local hands, ensuring that grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using wild yeasts. We honor traditional Georgian winemaking by using Kvevri—clay amphoras buried underground—resulting in amber/orange and red wines that truly reflect our terroir.
Our Commitment to Organic Winemaking
Since the 2019 vintage, part of our production has been certified organic, with the remainder transitioning to organic farming practices. Despite global challenges, we are dedicated to expanding our business. In 2020, we initiated investments in a new winery in Manavi, where ancient and modern techniques will converge to create high-quality natural wines. The construction will incorporate rammed earth, aligning with our environmentally friendly philosophy. While we are currently building, we anticipate welcoming guests for tours and tastings in 2023. Our current production capacity is approximately 35,000 bottles per year, with plans for gradual growth over the next five years. We proudly export our wines to markets in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, and the USA.
