A UNESCO World Heritage Method

Sesikeli Winery proudly follows an ancient Georgian winemaking tradition known as Qvevri, which dates back over 8,000 years. This unique process involves natural fermentation and aging in large clay vessels called Qvevri, which are buried underground. This method imparts a distinct taste and flavor to the wine. The entire process lasts six months, during which the grape skins naturally infuse the wine, resulting in an amber hue for Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, and Kisi, and a deep red color for Saperavi.

Fresh and Natural

At Sesikeli Winery, every bottle is crafted with care, from harvesting to bottling. Expert winemaker Simon Sesikashvili oversees each step, ensuring that the wines reflect the heritage of his ancestors. The wines produced here harmonize beautifully with the rich terroir of the Kakheti region, known for its fertile lands and ideal grape-growing conditions.

Award-Winning Wines

Sesikeli Winery specializes in key Georgian varieties, including Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi, and Saperavi. Notably, their white dry Rkatsiteli earned a silver medal at the 2020 Qvevri Wine Competition, showcasing the quality and craftsmanship that define their wines.

The tour and the tasting were a great experience. Simoni is a great host, very nice and generous. Our tasting included three wines and two chachas that were delicious. In addition to explaining in detail the entire process of making traditional Georgian wines, he also told us very interesting aspects of their culture and history. Madloba Simoni!

While traveling through Kakheti, we found this winery on Google Maps, and words can't describe how heartfelt the product this family creates is. The very welcoming owner greeted us and offered us wine. The wine itself (my wife and I chose Kisi) is incredibly delicious—fruity and smooth. You can clearly taste stone fruits like peaches and apricots. Next time, we plan to book a full tasting experience. If you're looking for a place with authentic local winemaking, this is the spot for you!

This place was extraordinary!!! The tour/explanation by the winery's owner, the wine tasting (with cheese, bread, and a really delicious sunflower oil), and the wines themselves (we tasted two) were all wonderful and memorable. Georgian wine making is REALLY different. This truly a handcrafted product and the owner's method of cleaning his 2000 liter clay fermentation jars, buried in the dirt in a shed, is almost beyond belief. I was so blown away that I bought a bottle of one of the wines we tasted, even though I was almost out of Georgian money and had no space left in my already too-heavy suitcase. The wine bottle has a very cool and representative label so I intend to keep the bottle after we finish the wine at home (we're saving it for a special occasion!). Tasting room, if you have a small group (there were 8 of us total) was very nice and cozy too. A truly great experience, not at all like any winery tour I've had elsewhere!

Super great vine tasting :) interesting wines, friendly host and delicious snacks! We would have paid three times the price simply because it was so nice! 30 gel is actually too little for this wonderful experience :)
