Wines Crafted from Nature's Bounty in Kakheti
The Lands of Dano
Our vineyards, rooted in the fertile soils of Kakheti, are around 40 years old, drawing the essence of the land and climate into every grape. Historically cherished by Georgian royalty, these vines produce a remarkable array of grape varieties, including Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Saperavi, and Pinot Noir, among others. Each variety contributes to the distinct character of our wines, blending traditional methods with modern techniques to create wines that reflect the soul of our vineyard.
Commitment to Natural Winemaking
At Dano Winery, we prioritize natural winemaking practices. As proud members of the Natural Wine Association (NWA) and Women in Wine Industry (WWI), we adhere to sustainable and ethical viticulture standards. Our wines undergo spontaneous fermentation using wild yeasts, ensuring an authentic expression of the fruit. We do not filter our wines, preserving their natural depth and complexity.
We avoid systemic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and herbicides, allowing our vineyards to flourish naturally. Our grapes thrive without irrigation, relying on the sun and soil's natural rhythms. Each bottle we produce reflects our commitment to organic practices, offering wines that celebrate the harmony between tradition, nature, and craftsmanship.
