Established in 2013, Jobava Winery, run by the family forced to relocate from Georgia’s region of Abkhazia following the conflict in the 90s, is not just a mere winemaking facility but a bridge honoring the traditional Georgian heritage of winemaking. Georgia holds a winemaking pedigree, and we strive to uphold its esteemed traditions while crafting exceptional wines.
From 2013 to 2022, our focus primarily centered on viticulture, where we meticulously cultivated and safeguarded endemic Georgian grape varieties such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Khikhvi, and Kakhuri Mtsvane. These formative years laid the foundation for our future endeavors.
Since 2022, Jobava Winery has grown to encompass both viticulture and winemaking. A major milestone was the opening of our modern winery, which combines essential Georgian qvevri with cutting-edge European technologies. The traditional qvevri - a large clay vessel coated with beeswax- plays a vital role in our winemaking process, enhancing our wines' unique taste and character. In addition to wine, Jobava Winery also follows the traditional method of distillation of chacha over wood. Our facility is equipped with premium, handcrafted equipment, allowing us to expand our offerings and diversify our product portfolio.
