The family’s coat of arms is prevalent and expresses deep love and respect for their hometown and their love and passion for the region and vines. Zaro Winery respects the natural characteristics of the region of Izola and is reviving local traditional viticulture methods. Vineyards in their Region
Their vines grow on almost twenty hectares of land in the best locations with the highest fertility and minerals in the Izola area of the Venetian Republic. The soils, temperature, climate, and rainfall are perfect in the region for the growth and cultivation of high-quality vines.
Their vineyards, namely, Roncaldo, Morer, Folo, and Pivol, are the area’s premium locations.
The best grapes and integrated processes help create vibrant and unique wines that reflect their gifted terroir characteristics. The main types of grapes grown at Zaro Winery are Malvasia, Refosk, Negratenera, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are handpicked and used to produce their world-class red, white, and rosé wines.
Olive Cultivation and Olive Oil Production
Apart from their wines, the winery is also known for its production of extra virgin olive oil. Their olive oil has a distinct aroma and freshness that gives it a fruity, bitter taste. Organic production and manual harvesting are carried out for their olive cultivation.
