Penedès Wine Route - Wine Paradise of Catalonia

It does good also to take walks out of doors, that our spirits may be raised and refreshed by the open air and fresh breeze: sometimes we gain strength by driving in a carriage, by travel, by change of air, or by social meals and a more generous allowance of wine.

Penedès sparkling wine Cava - A national pride of Spain

Penedès wines have their own distinct personality. They have come a long way and are now recognized and loved all around the world. The flavor, the perfume, the body—all combine to create wines of remarkable quality. These distinctive qualities are also the result of climatic and geographical shifts in this area of contrasts, which is immersed in the Mediterranean Sea.

Penedès is the greatest producer of sparkling Spanish wine known as cava, which translates to “wine cellar,” since aging in wine cellars is an essential and crucial stage of its manufacture.

Cava represents modernity in the long and fascinating universal history of the vine and wine, the sublimation of the art of creating wine, the compilation of everything that the winegrower has learned over generations. The Penedès is the birthplace of cava, with Sant Sadurn d'Anoia at the helm, a municipality where traditional viticulture and cava production conditions are formed.
