Crafting Organic Wines in Catalonia's Heart
Since the late 19th century, the Cuscó I Esteve family has been dedicated to viticulture, creating their own wines and cavas. In 1985, Josep Cuscó Berga and his sons established the current winery, with Joan Cuscó serving as the skilled winemaker, trained in the renowned regions of Priorat and Champagne. Nestled in the quaint village of Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet, the winery sits at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, providing a unique environment for grape cultivation.
Organic Practices for Quality Wines
All our wines are produced using organic methods. Our 40 hectares of vineyards thrive under organic farming practices, utilizing natural fertilizers and avoiding synthetic chemicals. Visitors can view a small collection of the grape varieties we cultivate, alongside a charming museum showcasing tools and equipment used by previous generations. Additionally, our multimedia room offers a unique tasting experience, pairing our wines and cavas with soothing jazz, blues, or country music.
A Unique Cellar for Exceptional Wines
The modern design of our cellar, built on solid rock foundations, creates ideal conditions for wine production. The unique mountain characteristics—low humidity, stable temperatures, and traditional slow fermentation—contribute to the quality of our wines and cavas. Celler Cuscó Berga is situated at the edge of the Garraf Natural Park, with its natural limestone rock from the Garraf Massif enhancing the terroir of our exceptional wines.
